Bronx shooting suspect Oneil Dasilva

Two suspects who are accused of shooting eight people, including three children, at a house party in the Bronx this past weekend have been arrested and chargedby police. Onell Dasilva, 17, turned himself in yesterday and was charged with eight counts of attempted murder; Phillip Muir, 21, who has 16 prior arrests, was also charged with eight counts of attempted murder, multiple counts of possessing and using a firearm, and reckless endangerment.{Ed.-Translation: these yard-apes are working hard on their PHD in TNB at nigger college.}
Police say that around 3:39 a.m. Sunday morning, the two opened fire in the driveway of a Williamsbridge home as a party was happening. An 11-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl were all wounded, as well as four men ages 18, 19, 21 and 24—the 24-year-old remains comatose, and in critical condition, while the others all survived. It’s unknown what sparked the shooting. {Ed.-My guess is violent thicked skulled Niggers being violent thick skulled Niggers, but hey, what do I know, I’m no donut-muncher.}

Altogether, sixty-seven people were shot over Labor Day weekend, and as a result, NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly says he wants more “boots on the ground” to deal with the crime spike. {Ed.-You don’t need more boots ON the ground, you need more boot-lips IN the ground.}

Ode to Nappy-Leon Blown Apart

Black William Shakespeare, AKA “Willie Spearchucker” shucks-n-jives off this mortal coil by way of Negro natural causes.  Miami on the look-out for next Oscar Wilding/Robber Frost primate progeny to fill ebonic black-hole left by such inimitable talent.

Miami’s budding world of poetry and spoken-word performance lost a defining voice early Sunday after gunmen shot and killed local poet Will “Da Real One’’ Bell outside the North Miami cafe where he had plied his trade for years and given a venue to countless other wordsmiths. {ED-A wordsmith whose moniker is “Da Real One.”}

Bell, 47, whose performances have been featured on HBO’s Def Poetry Jam, had just closed his business, the Literary Cafe and Poetry Lounge on 933 NE 125th Street, at about 12:40 a.m. and was walking to his car nearby when another car occupied by at least two men pulled up beside him, said Lt. Neal Cuevas of the North Miami Police Department.

A gunman leapt out from the passenger seat and fired multiple times at Bell, who died on the scene, Cuevas said. The men then fled in the car, but did not take any of Bell’s possessions, which included cash and jewelry.

“We don’t have a motive right now,’’ Cuevas said. {ED-Do Blacks need a motive to kill?}

Several witnesses, who had been inside The Literary Cafe earlier that night, offered police differing descriptions of the suspects’ car color as light and dark, with a spoiler on the rear. {Ed-Translation: A few coons in a 4-cylinder whigger-mobile.}

Bell will be missed in South Florida’s poetry and spoken-word performance scene, where he loomed as a local laureate, having achieved national recognition with performances on Def Poetry Jam and on albums by artists such as Miami’s Pit Bull, and hosting open-mic nights at his Literary Cafe and other venues. {Ed.-Tennyson eat your watermelon out!}

Standing nearly 6-feet-5, Bell cast an imposing presence on stage, where he delivered prose honed from a life of poverty, fatherlessness, crime and prison — before finding redemption through words. {Ed-*Yawn* Pick any random Black off the street and you’ll get the same TNB bio.}

Shawn Elliot, a musician and poet who befriended Bell at a Miami reading in 2006, said Bell possessed a commanding stage presence and a big heart to match.

“Just his voice alone was very demanding,’’ Elliot said. “Like when he spoke, people paid attention. He just had that tone in his voice… It cut the room, and you would pay attention.’’ {ED-Usually when you hear a Black shout, “Gimme all da cash crackah!” you pay attention.}

Bell would frequently open for lesser-known poets at local readings as a way to cultivate talent, and volunteered his time mentoring disadvantaged children, Elliot said.{ED-American Blacks have the highest living standard of all Blacks in the world, yet they are always, “disadvantaged.” The only disadvantage is the drag they put on our society.}

Addonis Parker, a Miami poet and artist, recalled the power of Bell’s words emanated from his personal experiences that informed his poetry.

“What made him different is the element that he came out of, and what he made of his misfortunes. He turned his unfortunate events into gold,’’ Parker said. “The stuff he said, everybody was electrified every time he opened his mouth because you could relate to it.’’ {Ed-Translation: Barking malapropisms and butchered English impresses throngs of gimp-brained Golliwogs.}

Many who knew Bell where heartbroken. One fan started a Facebook fan page in his honor and by late Sunday afternoon had more than 700 members.

Public tributes for Bell were already being planned. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Bell grew up in the Edison Court Projects on Northwest Third Avenue and 62nd Street, where his single mother moved the family shortly after Bell’s father left them.

In 1989, Bell was arrested for armed cocaine trafficking in his neighborhood. He was convicted, and sentenced to 14 months in prison. {ED-Translation: He graduated from nigger college with honors.}

Behind bars, he began writing love letters to an imaginary woman waiting for him “on the outside.’’

After showing his letters to a fellow prisoner, who encouraged his prose, Bell and the prisoner began a business ghost writing loves letters for other inmates in exchange for commissary items.

When he left prison in 1990, Bell left poetry behind. It took another decade before the muse struck Bell once again at an open mic poetry reading.

After signing up in 2001 for Lip, Tongue & Ear, a weekly, open-mic poetry competition for poets, Bell was hooked.

He won successive contests, eventually earning the title of Lip Tongue & Ear’s Poet Laureate of Miami-Dade in April 2003, a designation he held for a year. {ED-Lol, That’s the poetry equivalent of winning the bronze at the Special Olympics.}

It didn’t take long for Bell to launch a career in poetry with CDs, and performance and promotion fees. His big break came in 2004, when he performed on Def Poetry Jam.

Bell opened the Literary Cafe in summer 2003, with a vision of giving poets a place to perform their art.

Police: WR Brandon Marshall stabbed by wife

{Ed.–I’ve got to give that Brandon Marshall credit; number one, he at least sticks with his own; number two,  if I had to wake every morning only to be greeted by this walrus-faced Joe camel stunt-double, I would have stabbed myself in the eyes…}

MIAMI – Authorities said the wife of Brandon Marshall stabbed the Miami Dolphins wide receiver with a kitchen knife, and his agent said Saturday that the player was recovering.

Michi Nogami-Marshall, 26, was arrested Friday evening and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Nogami-Marshall told officers she was defending herself. Marshall had earlier told officers he slipped and fell onto a broken glass vase, but the officers noted that evidence at the couple’s home didn’t substantiate that claim.

Nogami-Marshall was released from jail Saturday on $7,500 bail. It was unclear if she had an attorney.

“This is a very difficult time for Brandon and family, thankfully he will make a full recovery,” Marshall’s agent, Kennard McGuire, said in a statement.

The NFL lockout restricts team contact with players. However, a team doctor for the Dolphins can see Marshall and consult with Marshall’s other doctors, and the team can express appropriate well wishes, said NFL spokesman Greg Aiello.

Marshall married Michi Nogami in Miami last July. They met while both were students at Central Florida. They live in Southwest Ranches, which is near the Dolphins’ complex in Davie.

A year ago last week, Marshall, 27, was traded to the Dolphins by the Denver Broncos for two second-round draft picks. In Denver, he caught at least 100 passes three consecutive years and twice made the Pro Bowl. Yet he wore out his welcome, in part because of a long legal record.

In March 2009, Marshall was arrested in Atlanta on misdemeanor battery charges stemming from a fight with Nogami-Marshall, who was his fiancee at the time. The charges were dropped when both refused to testify.

Marshall was also involved in a New Year’s Eve fight that led to the 2007 drive-by slaying of Broncos teammate Darrent Williams.

CHICAGO – Each time the video was played in court, spectators turned away at the sight of a young man bending his legs and jumping into the air near a teenager sprawled on the ground after being punched, kicked and hit over the head with a wooden board.

On Thursday, a judge cited the video of the 2009 attack that was seen around the world after it was posted online, saying that those few seconds when prosecutors say Silvonus Shannon leaped onto the head of 16-year-old honor student Derrion Albert justified the 32-year prison sentence he was handing down.

Cook County Circuit Judge Nicholas Ford said while it was impossible to know whether Shannon actually killed Albert when he stomped on his head, it did not matter. What mattered, he said, was that when Shannon jumped in the air he crossed a “hard line” that can’t be crossed. He violated a code, the judge said, that says “once a man was down he wasn’t assaulted any more. He’s out of it.”

The sentence was the latest chapter in the story of a brutal incident that became synonymous with the kind of violence that was claiming Chicago high school students at a terrifying rate — more than 20 deaths in a six-month period.

The sight of Albert, trying to defend himself against waves of attackers, being knocked to the ground, staggering up and unable to cover his body from all the kicks and punches, prompted the police department and the school district to take steps of security around schools,. At the same time, in Washington, President Barack Obama dispatched two top Cabinet officials to the city to discuss ways to quell the violence.

Five young men were charged, four as adults and one as a juvenile The juvenile has already been convicted and one of the other adults pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, with two others still awaiting trial.

Shannon stood trial in January and a jury convicted him of first-degree murder after only a few hours of deliberations, a clear signal that they had little trouble discounting the contention by Shannon and his attorney that he did not actually land on Albert’s head.

On Thursday, while there was some talk about whether Shannon landed on Albert, another student at the same high school on the city’s South Side, most of families of both victim and assailant talked about what was lost that afternoon in September of 2009 a few blocks from the high school.

Responding to all the media reports that included references to Albert’s good grades and his desire to go to college, Shannon’s cousin, Leona Shannon said, “He wants to go to college, too.”

Albert’s family reminded the judge that this was the year Albert’s future would begin to unfold, with his graduation from Fenger High School.

This should have been a time, said Bonita Braxton, when the family might have been asking Albert about his prom, his test scores and what college he was hoping to attend.

Instead, “We are asking for justice,” she said. “We will never get to see his dreams come alive.”

Albert’s mother told Shannon that nothing he could say would make any difference to her.

“There’s no apology you could ever give to me that I would forgive you,” she said. “You helped destroy a family.”

Shannon did try to apologize.

“I’m genuinely sorry for what happened and I hope you can forgive me,” he said, standing in the courtroom, his body turned to Albert, her father and other relatives.

Byman had asked the judge to impose the minimum sentence of 20 years and not the 60-year maximum. He said that even the jury, after reaching a verdict, had asked the judge to show some mercy toward Shannon.

Shannon, though, seemed to know by the time Ford told him his sentence, that he wouldn’t be sentenced to 20 years in prison. His head was already in his hands when Ford imposed a 32-year sentence — or six years more than the man who pleaded guilty to first-degree murder earlier this year.

When it was over, Ford allowed Shannon to hug his mother.
